Local legend says this town was named by a bunch of drunks who opened a gas station together in the 1970s. But the residents stuck by this unique name, and the Arizona Department of Transportation sign at the entrance of the town once declared this:
“The staunch citizens of Nothing are full of Hope, Faith, and Believe in the work ethic. Thru-the-years-these dedicated people had faith in Nothing, hoped for Nothing, worked at Nothing, for Nothing.”
The town’s population seems to have peaked at a total of 4 people, but it’s now completely abandoned. A fire consumed several buildings in the early 2000s, and attempts to revive it throughout the years have all failed.
